Supermarket Secrets
Did you know that supermarkets want you to spend more money? Here are some of their secrets. 1. Milk and eggs are usually at the back of the shop. Everybody needs a carton of milk or a box of eggs, so you have to walk past a lot of other products — and you buy more! 2. The trolleys are very big. In a big trolley, a few packets of pasta and a bottle of juice look like very little, so you put in more. 3. Sweets and bars of chocolate are near the checkout. You wait in the queue, you're tired... and you take one. 4. The most expensive products are on the shelves in the middle, at the same level as your eyes. The cheaper ones are usually on the top or bottom shelves. 5. Many supermarkets have a bakery inside. The smell of fresh bread makes you hungry — and hungry people buy more! So next time, take a shopping list — and never go shopping when you're hungry!
