Day Zero — You Wake Up and the World Is Over. Drama Event
Drama Event
Scenario
You wake up on a Tuesday morning. The streets are empty. Cars are abandoned with doors open. There is no internet, no phone signal, no electricity. You look out of the window and see people moving strangely — slowly, in groups, towards noise. You turn on a battery-powered radio and hear a looping emergency message: "This is not a drill. Stay indoors. Lock all doors and windows. Do not approach infected individuals. Head to the nearest evacuation point only if you have a vehicle. Good luck." You are alone. You have 10 minutes to act.
- 🎲
wordlist
I need to find... I should grab... before I leave. I must avoid... If I go outside, I might... We have to stay quiet or they'll... Don't open that door! Whatever you do, don't... Let's head towards...
- 🎯
Decision
You can hear banging on your front door. Through the peephole you see your neighbour — she's covered in blood but she's talking normally. She's screaming: "Let me in! They're coming!" Do you open the door?
- ⏱
Pressure
You check your kitchen. You have: 4 bottles of water, half a loaf of bread, a bag of rice, two cans of beans, a kitchen knife, a torch with low batteries, and a first aid kit. You can only carry what fits in one backpack. What do you take?
- 🔄
Twist
You hear a helicopter overhead. A loudspeaker says: "Evacuation point: the football stadium, 3 kilometres north. Gate closes in 2 hours." The stadium is across open ground with no cover. You could also stay in your apartment building — it has thick walls and a rooftop. What do you do?
- 🧨
Crisis
You look out of the back window. A group of about 20 infected people is moving down your street towards your building. They haven't noticed you yet. But your neighbour's car alarm has just started going off. It's attracting them. You have about 5 minutes before they reach your door.
- 🧠
Revelation
Your phone suddenly gets one bar of signal for 30 seconds. You receive a text from a friend: "I'm at the shopping centre with 8 other survivors. We have food and weapons. Come if you can. Third floor, barricaded." The shopping centre is 1.5 kilometres east — through residential streets. Then the signal dies.
- 🧭
Opportunity
You find a set of car keys on the ground near an abandoned SUV. The car has half a tank of petrol. But starting the engine will make a lot of noise. The infected react to sound. Do you take the car or keep moving on foot?
- 🚧
Constraint
It's getting dark. You have no torch batteries left. Moving at night is extremely dangerous — the infected hunt by sound in the dark. You must decide now: find shelter for the night or keep moving towards the evacuation point while you can still see.
- 🎯
Decision
You reach a fork in the road. Left goes to the football stadium — open ground, faster, but exposed. Right goes through a residential area with houses you could hide in if needed — slower, but more cover. You can hear groaning from both directions. Which way?

Build Your Survival Team. Hidden Role
Hidden Role
Scenario
You have found shelter in an abandoned school. Four survivors have arrived from different directions. You need to work together to survive the night — share supplies, assign guard shifts, and plan your next move. But one of these survivors is hiding something dangerous. Decide together: who guards, who sleeps, where do you go at dawn, and what do you do about the strange noise coming from the basement?
The Ex-Soldier
You served in the army for 8 years. You know how to fight, how to move quietly, and how to set up a defensive perimeter. You arrived with a hunting knife and a working compass.
Secret goal: You take charge naturally. You want to barricade all entrances, set guard shifts, and move to a military base at dawn. You don't trust easily. If someone acts strangely, you will confront them directly.
The Nurse
You worked in A&E for 12 years. You have a first aid kit, painkillers, and basic surgical tools. You are calm under pressure and you know how to treat injuries.
Secret goal: You want to find more medical supplies. You noticed that one of the survivors has a bite mark on their arm that they are trying to hide. You must decide — do you tell the group or speak to them privately first?
The Teenager
You are 17. You are scared but resourceful. You escaped from your school when it was overrun. You know this neighbourhood better than anyone — every shortcut, every hiding spot, every unlocked building.
Secret goal: You seem brave but you are terrified inside. You will agree with whoever sounds most confident. You have a secret: your younger sister is hiding in the school basement. That's the "strange noise." You are afraid to tell the group because they might refuse to help or see her as a risk.
The Stranger
SpyYou arrived last. You say you escaped from the hospital. You seem calm, helpful, and physically strong. You offered to take the first guard shift.
Secret goal: You were bitten on your forearm 6 hours ago. You are hiding the bite under a long-sleeved shirt. You don't know if you are infected yet — maybe the virus doesn't affect everyone. But if it does, you will turn by morning. You genuinely want to help the group. You are terrified of what's happening to you. Do you tell them?
The Night Gets Worse. Drama Event
Drama Event
Scenario
The group has settled into the school for the night. Guard shifts are assigned. The doors are barricaded. It's midnight. Then things start going wrong...
- 🎲
wordlist
Did you hear that? Stay calm — it could be nothing. We should check it out, but carefully. Did you hear that? Stay calm — it could be nothing. We should check it out, but carefully. Nobody goes anywhere alone. If that door breaks, we need a backup plan. We must decide now — we don't have time to argue. I don't trust them — something isn't right. We have to stick together or we won't make it.
- 🧨
Crisis
The noise from the basement is getting louder. It sounds like a child crying. The ex-soldier wants to ignore it — "It could be a trap." The nurse says someone might need help. The teenager is acting strangely nervous. Do you investigate?
- 🧠
Revelation
The nurse notices blood on the stranger's sleeve during a guard change. She pulls back the fabric and sees a bite mark. The stranger says: "It happened 8 hours ago. I feel fine. Maybe I'm immune." The ex-soldier reaches for his knife. What does the group decide?
- 🔄
Twist
A loud crash comes from outside. Through the window, you see another group of survivors — five people — trying to break into the building next door. They are being chased. They see your light and start running towards the school. If you let them in, you share your limited supplies with 5 more people. If you don't, they might die outside. You have 30 seconds to decide.
- ⏱
Pressure
The generator you found earlier has enough fuel for 3 more hours of light. After that, total darkness. The infected are more active in the dark. You must decide how to use the remaining power: keep the lights on to feel safe, or turn them off to avoid attracting attention from outside?
- 🎯
Decision
At 4 AM, the ex-soldier says: "I've been watching from the roof. There's a clear path east towards the river. If we leave in 20 minutes, we can reach the bridge before sunrise. After that, they'll be everywhere." The nurse says the stranger shouldn't come — he might turn at any moment. The teenager says she won't leave without checking the basement first. The stranger says nothing. You must make a plan in 5 minutes.
- 🧭
Opportunity
While searching a classroom, you find a working walkie-talkie. You turn it on and hear a military voice: "Safe zone established at the airport. Helicopters leaving at 0800. Last evacuation. Frequency will not repeat." The airport is 10 kilometres away. The bridge is 2 kilometres. You can't do both. Which way?
- 🧨
Crisis
The barricade on the ground floor entrance starts breaking. Something is pushing against it — hard. You hear groaning. Multiple voices. The door won't hold for more than 10 minutes. The only other exit is a window on the second floor — a 4-metre drop onto concrete. What's the plan?
- 🔄
Twist
As dawn breaks, the stranger suddenly collapses. His eyes are open but he's shaking violently. The nurse checks him — high fever, rapid pulse. He might be turning. Or he might just be in shock from dehydration and blood loss. The group has 60 seconds to decide what to do with him before they move.

The Survivors' Debrief. Story Builder
Story Builder
Story prompt
The zombie apocalypse is over. You survived. Now tell the story of your escape from the beginning — how you woke up, what you did, who you met, what decisions you made, and how you made it out alive. Build the story together, sentence by sentence. Use past tenses for what happened and conditionals for what WOULD have happened if you had chosen differently.
